Reading & Resources
It is natural that you're spending a lot of time on the internet researching your condition. You should. You should arm yourself with information and evidence to help you co-create your treatment. This is how I became a medical researcher, fervently reading NCBI papers, Merck Manuals, Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic resources. This is all good. What is not as good are the online forums where there is a disproportionate amount of desperation. Patients who have been cured are less likely to participate in these forums and so while you get a lot of empathy from fellow sufferers, it can seem that there's no cure and no hope. So if you do happen to spend a lot of time on ICN or HealthUnlocked or Inspire, be careful. You will be better off partnering with yourself and doing your own research. Here you will find a selection of articles that will help you build your case with the medical profession.
